Events and Happenings
There is no reason why a pirate radio station cannot use its technologies to help inspire a new generation of broadcasters. This is the reason why KLOKi radio desires to get out into the community wherever the opportunity presents itself.
Teen Sports Announcers
If you're in high school and live between Boulder and Colorado Springs, and you are interested in sports and enjoy commenting on sporting events, you might be interested in a career as a sportscaster, also known as a sports commentator or announcer. Sportscasters provide real-time commentary on a game or event, usually live over a broadcast or streaming podcast. They can cover a specific sport or provide general sports coverage and player updates.
In 2025, KLOKi radio hopes to build interest in podcasting high school sporting events on streaming radio worldwide. This project will be used to inspire high school students to venture into sports broadcasting (or podcasting), as well as provide them with opportunities to polish their skills through live participation.
To become a sportscaster, you will surely need at least a bachelor's degree is usually required. But most importantly, you will need opportunities to gain experience through internships, entry-level positions, or other opportunities such as the one being offered here.
To qualify, you'll need to be familiar with the rules of many different games as well as the players. You can apply by jumping through the button shown below to send your request.
Listening Booths
During the warm and dry season (May-September), KLOKi radio sets up a listening station at popular skateparks throughout the greater Denver area. Listening stations are broadcasts using 15-watt FM transmitters that are located at or near the skate park. Here is a list of locations where you can tune-in when the season is right.
At some locations, I personally appear to offer free drinks and snacks and to record shout-outs.
